Arizona Restaurant Week: Maynards Kitchen

This chic little restaurant is located near the historic depot in downtown Tucson next to the train tracks.  Next door to the restaurant is the Maynards Market where you get buy fresh foods and local groceries.  The chef uses locally grown produce for the dishes.

J went ahead with the $29 ARW deal (appetizer, entree, and dessert).  I opted to stick with just the entree as I wasn't too crazy about the entree choices offered with the ARW deal.

Duck 3 Ways - duck confit and seared foie gras with saute cherries, green beans, and duck fried potatoes with light mustard sauce:
duck confit was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside
Taste: 9/10
foie gras a bit greasy
Taste: 7/10

J had the halibut with edible orchid: lacked flavor.
Taste: 6/10

Profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and warm chocolate sauce
Taste 8/10

All in all, the food was good.  May go back just to enjoy the intimate and quaint setting.  Tomorrow we take a break, because I have yoga classes in the evening.  I can't see how some people can eat out every single day. 吃的好累阿!
